About the Project

A centralized repository of equilibrium simulation results computed with DESC and many other codes to come, along with device configurations, publication references, and associated data files.

Researchers from participating universities and laboratories can upload results, browse existing simulations, and query the database with flexible search criteria.

What's in the Database

  • desc_runs — DESC equilibrium results with spectral resolution, stability metrics, and profiles
  • vmec_runs — VMEC equilibrium simulation results (coming soon)
  • configurations — Magnetic geometry via Fourier coefficients
  • devices — Physical stellarator devices
  • publications — Linked academic references

Getting Started

  1. Register for an account and wait for admin approval
  2. Prepare your data with the stelladb Python package
  3. Navigate to Upload Data to submit your equilibrium files
  4. Use Search Data to query with SQL-style filters
  5. Check Variable Names for column descriptions
